So, about me…
I love to draw. I always have. Whether it was during a lesson on fractions, in the backseat of a rumbling car or tented under the blankets with my dog and a flashlight; putting pencil to paper has always been my thing.
As an artist, I make the impossible come alive. This ability is my magical superpower. You want an iguana frolicking on iceskates? Sure. No problem! A banana riding a bicycle? Why not? Dream it up, and let me bring it to life.
As an art teacher, I spent many smudgy, splattery hours (thirty years worth, to be exact) interacting with children. My own art is playful and mischievous which influenced the lessons that I concocted for my students. In turn, my students impacted my own creative spirit. The curiosity and joy of a child is ever present in my art.
I am a graduate of Rhode Island School of Design where I studied under Chris Van Allsburg and David Macaulay who both influenced my artistic style and process.
My illustrations have been featured in publications and commissioned murals.
I have shown in numerous galleries and venues, and was represented by the Bridget Mayer Gallery in Philadelphia, Pa
I taught art at The Haverford School near Philadelphia, PA.
